Facebook

So I did not receive a response to my earlier question. Hmmm... I am not sure if a. there's nobody reading these entries, b. you'd like to respond but you couldn't because you were b.1. too busy at that time b.2. could not write down a response to the blog due some technical reasons.

I think from the start I really wanted to bring the $10 Initiative close to everyone, and have everyone freely take ownership of it. So the good news is, while this blog may not exactly be attrtacting traffic, we've signed up as a Cause on Facebook and guess what-- 109 members in 2 weeks!

There we can freely exchange our ideas, write on the walls, and post entries for discussion.

HOWEVER, I am not leaving this blog and will still be writing on here. So keep reading, I'll have more things to say. :-)

Cheers!

Marching on

Hi guys! It's me. :-) I'm not exactly sure why I wrote "Marching on" on my subject line. I wanted to write an entry, and that just came to my mind.

Maybe it's because thinking about our economy, there are a million reasons why we should feel helpless and just stop.

Maybe it's because with the daily grind of our everyday lives, we are just plowing through, keeping our heads down. There's not much time for anything else.

Thinking about where we are in our lives, how can we still "march on"?

I am going to leave this blog incomplete, dear reader, and ask you to help me finish it. E-mail me at jericho.razon@gmail.com your answers and I'll share them on my next entry!

Let's talk about what we can do

Sorry about that video underneath. I didn't realize the video blog would freeze the video right on a screen shot where I looked like I was angry.

Kind of like a disgruntled customer after finding out the beef patties were missing in his burger. Or that there actually was just one patty in there. Haha

ANYWAY.

What can we do with the tendollarinitiative? I'd like us to get involved. It's not just about funding projects I think, but making that initiative to care. I think the bigger picture is that, yes, in our own little way, we can make a donation, but before then, if we could bring out that person inside us who's been yearning to make a change, that would have been the point of it all.

To care and to root for the success of others.

Because we believe that others too, can have the same opportunities as we have had in our lives, and in fact are still continuing to reap.

So listen to that desire, stirring in you to make a difference. To find that movement inside that would make you make an initiative. Help out others, volunteer in your nieghborhood or community, mentor others, provide free lessons to a subject or skill you're good at, visit loved ones, or help friends in need.

What would be your initiative?

YES WE CAN!

Because DC is all agog with Obama-mania and this day, January 20, 2009 reminds us what we can achieve when we hope and act on that belief. Sometimes all it takes to make a big difference is to start with something small. Sometimes it starts with just one click, one project.

Oftentimes it starts with us. Today, as we mark a turning point in America's history, we can also remember why we started The Ten Dollar Initiative and where we hope we can take it one day.  We can make it happen.

"Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek."
                                                        - Barack Obama

Today, we became part of a larger dream.
Change has come with that dream made real.
Somewhere in the developing world, a child also hopes.
For something larger, a better future.
We can become part of that change.

My Trip to the Philippines

Hi everyone!

This is a bit delayed, but it took a while to get it all together-- a video blog, sort of, of my trip to the Philippines. I had wanted to post on a more real time basis, but unfortunately, technology could not allow me.

I hope you'll find some bits and pieces of it interesting. It's a spotlight on one of our partner non-profits, the Virlanie Foundation.

Enjoy.
